[+/-] #32- PERSONA 3 VS. PERSONA 4

[+/-] #32- PERSONA 3 VS. PERSONA 4 published on 1 Comment on [+/-] #32- PERSONA 3 VS. PERSONA 4

I’d been kicking this one around for a while and honestly I was kind of considering doing Devil Survivor 1 and 2 against each other instead for very similar reasons. 2 is definitely an improved game, but 1’s story was more interesting to me since the characters were actually doing survival-related things like worrying about where to find water and spots to recharge their COMPs, and 2 basically has the crew working for the SMT equivalent of NERV. Seriously, an underground agency designed for the specific unlikely crisis at hand, bizarre but powerful alien attackers appearing one at a time in intervals… and a guy named Joe who’s kind of a goofball.

When it comes to the two ‘big’ Persona games, I kind of prefer the vibe of 3- darker, more outright creepy imagery, and a blatant sense of utter wrongness to the nature of the Dark Hour, compared to the “warm and fuzzy place where murder happens” vibe in 4- but the cast in 4 is way more memorable and the tweaks to the game engine itself make going back to 3 kind of a chore.

Hey all. Gonna start working on the next strip soon, been a bit busy getting a new workspace set up and doing some commissions. Even though this series isn’t on a schedule, I still at least like to get a monthly update in.

If you like, you can catch my stream here and follow me on Twitter or Facebook to see when I’m live. Usually I just kind of do warmup sketches and maybe take some simple requests if the mood strikes.

Ao Oni: no, I will not review it. So, been a while again. Sorry for the unannounced month’s break, but on the up side, my bragging that I would update before Dresden Codak would on Facebook the other day, I *did* cause Dresden Codak to post a new page. So if you’re a fan of that, please direct your thanks and Patreongolds to me. If nothing else, I’ve taught myself not to promise more frequent updates, because almost immediately afterwards Things Happen or fail to happen.

Not really sure what I’ll be doing next, but it *won’t* be Ao Oni.

WordPress’s new dashboard is going to take getting used to on my phone screen. It really WANTS to look like the Facebook app, but the menu bar is too finicky to imitate it in function. Gnfhghgh.

Anyway. Next installment of the Pokeymans review “saga” is in the works and should go up this week. It goes back to reviewy territory, sort of. You know, nothing makes me want to put a game down more than turning it into “work” sometimes. Not always though! I found the bonus challenges in Vanquish really addicting for a while.

Well, I did it. I finally went and did it I BLEW IT UP! YOU MANIACS DAMN Y-

I mean, I moved all my [+/-] comics into one spot for easy reading. Enjoy this new, more convenient format in which to marvel at how the strip has progressed from “somewhat intentionally terribly drawn” to “alright, I guess, why don’t you just go ahead and take a warehouse job assembling hydraulic hose?”

Thanks to all who’ve been following for this long, and welcome, all newcomers. Hope you enjoy your visit and spread it the frack around!
